Another great product by ESR! Love the strong magnets (as usual with ESR) and the design – allows me to easily take it off if I just want to hold the iPad with no case. Minimalist design and non-slippery material. Ordered for 2024 iPad Air 13" – the camera cutout is square (as for the previous iPad Pro model) but that’s not an issue for me.

The inside of the case is soft and smooth. The outside has a smooth semi-hard surface and has an additional snap on magnetic cover. It is lightweight and sturdy that feels similar to my existing Apple folio cases for the iPad Air 4th & 5th generation. There is a cutout for the camera. This case is made for the iPad Air 6th generation with a 12.9" that will be coming out shortly.

I was looking for an alternative to the Apple Smart Folio as I didn’t want to pay $100 for another one. The ESR is remarkably good quality for being a fraction of the price and definitely serves my needs. I wouldn’t say it’s a 1 for1 replacement for the Apple one but it’s pretty darn close. In terms of functionality it’s actually better considering it has the extra flap for the Apple Pencil. That being said i’m not a particularly huge fan of the pencil flap as an extra pice of thing I have to interact with to open the case but I see the functionality of it. Other reviews have complained about the magnet strength but I have had no issues. In my experience the magnets are plenty strong. If you’re looking for an affordable Smart Folio alternative to the Apple one this one is worth picking up.

I’m have an iPad Air 13 inch, I’m having no issues whatsoever with the magnetism for this case. I have my tablet on and shaking it attempting to break loose. Not hard, normal shaking. The iPad has not fallen off. The front lid, close strong, and I appreciate the flap to hold the iPad pencil into place. When using as a folio, the flap can go back in if you push it against the back of the case, it will stick so it won’t be in your way. Given the iPad Pro M4 13 inch is about the same way. I would expect you would have no issues as well. Definitely recommend.

Couldn’t test this with the 13" 2024 iPad with the M2 chip due to not having one. However, for the 13" iPad PRO 2024 with the m4 chip, the magnet location is not the same and therefore the cover will not mount. Due to this being a partial error on my part, I’m not going to further drop my rating, but something in the notes to that effect would’ve been helpful in not having to deal with returning the product.

I plan to use this one when I don’t need the magic keyboard. The feeling of this case is better than I thought! I wish there is no pencil holder.
