I actually have a Magic Keyboard, but got a good deal on the Ascend Lite and thought it would be a bit lighter which it actually isn’t (rubber bumpers to protect the Ipad weigh something and they add bulk). The lite is as heavy and slightly bigger than the Magic Keyboard. I was initially disappointed, but the Ascend Lite offers other advantages.
1. tablet is protected when used as a tablet.
2. the bluetooth works quite well and again there are tradeoffs. I can type in portrait mode, use the Ipad with an external monitor, and I can use my phone and ipad mini with the keyboard.
3. it’s very lapable. and slightly more stable than the Magic Keyboard in that mode.
4. I can keep my stylus with the case.
bottom line, it’s a lot more versatile than the Magic Keyboard.

I LOVE this keyboard case- have had it for about a week now and cannot fault it- it looks great- the build quality is lovely- I can use my iPad stand alone whilst still protected or use it with the keyboard which is nice and steady and a dream to type on- the backlit keys are fantastic too! It is leaps and bounds better than the Apple ones- for a fraction of the price and very similar built quality! Very happy!
I have the white version- and the outside is a crisp white and the insides are a slight off white- but it looks very classy and clean! Great for a fan of neutrals

Excelente teclado y funda, puede ser usado con las tapas y el teclado, aunque aumenta bastante el peso, pero también puede ser utilizado sin las tapas ni el teclado, aligerando su peso sin desproteger el ipad, ya que además de proteger los marcos del eqiupo la protección interna sobresale 2mm del cristal, lo que hace que en caso de caidas no alcance a tocar el suelo. La posición para el lapiz es perfecta y no entorpece la adhesión de este que es bastante fuerte.Aunque soporta bastante bien el peso del ipad creo que le faltó un poco más de fuerza al imán de la tapa trasera para poder doblar las tapas dejando el teclado cubierto bajo el ipad y no hacia la mano, ya que cuando está así se tiende a correr.

Good keyboard for the price. Long battery life, only needed to charge it a couple of times since I’ve got it but I use it all the time for school. However, I’ve had some issues with it randomly not typing anything after having it for a month.

This is a great option as it double-acts as a folio cover and keyboard as well as a stand-alone ipad case when needed. The finish is sleek and looks more expensive than it is.The keyboard is really pleasant to type on with a satisfying keys and it doesn’t feel like a size compromise. The set up is really simple and I particularly like the fact you can use it in portrait mode, which lends itself much better for longer texts. I don’t think other ipad keyboards offer that. All in all I find this a well-made and really versatile accessory for my ipad pro while being far more affordable than other options which actually offer less functionality.

I’ll start my review by stating my use case. I recently replaced an old MacBook Pro with a Mac Mini Pro. I bought an iPad Air to use as a stylus interface with the Mac Mini Pro, with apps such as Affinity Photo, a job it adequately performs. I’ve since been looking for a case/keyboard combination for the iPad, to give it a laptop like capability while not taking away from the tablet experience when using the Apple Pencil. I went to an Apple Store and found their solutions rather underwhelming. The magic keyboard case seemed a one trick pony, as well as, being expensive and bulky, while it lacked media keys and only had a small trackpad. Their other keyboard cases were also expensive and gave a poor typing experience. I bought a Logitech Combo Touch, which provided a protected tablet function but with a kickstand arrangement that when used with the keyboard made for an awkward laptop experience, the footprint being deeper, and less stable than that of my previous laptop, also the kickstand would dig into my legs. The Comb Touch went straight back. So for the time being, I made do with the Keyboard-to-Go by Logitech, a mouse, a Magic Trackpad, and a case by ESR. The mouse and trackpad are not used much, although, the mouse is more useful now as I’ve learnt how to customise it (AssistiveTouch in Touch settings). The ESR case is great; a folio, with an additional rubber bumper case. So realising that I didn’t need a trackpad/keyboard combo, I finally settled on the ESR Ascend Lite Keyboard Case.Well, I love it! I now have that mini laptop I’ve been wanting, while still being able to fold the case into itself and use it as a straight tablet. Equally, for long periods of use in tablet form, I can remove the rubber bumper case from the keyboard to reduce weight and subsequent wrist fatigue. When typing on the Ascend Lite, as I am now, sitting in a canvas chair in my kitchen, the experience is better than I expected. The keyboard is responsive and gives feedback, not as good as my Keychron K6 Pro, but close to my Logitech MX Master keyboard, the backlighting is a nice touch I wouldn’t be without. The shallow depth of the keyboard negates the need for a mouse as reaching for the iPad screen is as easy as pointing a finger (well, almost). It has a smaller footprint than my old MacBook Pro, which reduces lap fatigue. The media function keys all work great, and I make a lot of use of the Home/PgUp/PgDn/End keys. The case overall is well made, and treated well should last the life of my iPad. Portrait mode is a nice touch. The flap for securing the Apple Pencil is something all iPad case should have. The only thing I don’t like is the colour, my previous ESR case was purple to match the iPad, black is so dull, reminiscent of office ThinkPads. Also, I agree with other reviewers that it is a shame that the rubber bumper case can’t be used in my ESR folio and visa versa. The price was great too, great value. In fact, it came to the same price as the ESR folio and Logitech Go combined, should have taken this option originally.I highly recommend the ESR Ascend Lite.

Well tbh i don’t know how exactly to explain the product quality but it is not one of those cheap plastic ones. The magnet has yet to let me down, fits perfectly and not to mention, the keyboard. It is so good compared to this price. All the functions makes it even more cool.

I wish the magnets were stronger. That would help keep the iPad stable when changing orientations.
